JOINT MEDIA RELEASE
Heartfelt Miigwech – In Memory of OPP Officer Paul Lebel
Grand Council Treaty #3, Sustainable Indigenous Solutions (SIS), the Kenora District Services Board (KDSB), the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Treaty 3 Police (T3P) and all of our community partners and organizations involved in the Youth Mentorship Program extends our deepest gratitude to the Lebel family for their donation to the Youth Mentorship Program.
Paul dedicated his life to service—both as a respected officer, mentor, and community leader. In honoring his wish, his family has made an incredibly generous donation of $14,000 to support our program—an investment in the future of our youth and community. Paul was a role model, and his legacy lives on through those who, like him, continue to guide and uplift the next generation.
The Youth Mentorship Program currently runs Tuesdays at the Sportsplex in Kenora and Thursdays at the Central Rink. This program thrives because of the dedication of our volunteers, officers, and mentors—individuals like Paul—who show up with kindness and commitment to making a difference.
To the Lebel family, our volunteers, and all who support our youth: Chi-miigwech. Your generosity and dedication help us build strong, capable future leaders.
Miigwech,
Grand Council Treaty #3, SIS, KDSB, OPP, T3PS, & Community Partners
