Grand Council Treaty #3 Congratulates Chief Terry Allan on Re-Election
Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 congratulate Terry Allan, re-elected Chief of Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation on August 4, 2026. Also elected were Councillors Tanya Jones, Sue Boshey, and Kelvin Morrison.
“I am pleased to offer my congratulations to Chief Allan on his election to a second term as Chief of Nigigoonsiminikaaning. Chief Allan has been a strong advocate for the Nation over the years, particularly in his support for the implementation of Manito Aki Inakonigewin. I look forward to continuing our work together and appreciate his support and guidance in the work that we do.”
Chief Allan will continue to serve as a member of the Environmental Chiefs Committee at Grand Council Treaty #3.
Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation is located on Rainy Lake east of Fort Frances. The total registered population of Nigigoonsiminikaaning is approximately 457 of which 187 live on reserve.
