Grand Council Treaty #3 Congratulates Chief Bill Petiquan on Election

Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 congratulates Bill Petiquan, newly elected Chief of Wabauskang First Nation on his successful election on March 13.

“Congratulations to Chief Bill Petiquan on his election to the position of Chief in Wabauskang First Nation,” said Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh. “I know Chief Petiquan has a wealth of experience from his time on our Men’s Council and will be a valuable addition to our discussions.”

Chief Petiquan will be invited to participate with the Social Chiefs Committee at Grand Council Treaty #3. The Social Chiefs are currently working on several very intensive files including health which will be a major component of post-pandemic planning.

Wabauskang is located north of Kenora, Ontario. The total registered population of Wabauskang is approximately 350 of which just under 150 live on-reserve.
