Grand Council Treaty #3’s Social portfolio is dedicated to supporting the well-being and prosperity of Anishinaabe Nation members. The Social Department leads initiatives that enhance community resilience and advocate for holistic care, while our Health programs focus on mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.
Through an integrated approach, the Social sector works closely with communities to ensure programs reflect the needs and strengths of the people. Whether addressing social determinants of health, improving education outcomes, or supporting youth and families, the department emphasizes dignity, inclusion, and the long-term vision of self-determination for Anishinaabe communities.
Ji-adisidooyang ge-onji mino-ayaayang (Health)
Grand Council Treaty #3 enables the 28 member communities to discuss and decide on regional, federal and national priorities affecting First Nations health, and to provide a unified voice on health issues affecting its citizens.
Wii chi it tii taa Miina (Social)
At the direction of leadership, Grand Council Treaty #3 Social Department works alongside Treaty #3 First Nations to advocate for responsive and effective services.
