Bail Verification and Supervision Program
The Indigenous Bail Verification and Supervision Program (IBVSP) assists community members aged 18 and older who are accused of criminal offences and are eligible for bail. IBVSP assists members who do not have the financial or social ties to meet bail conditions. The IBVSP serves two principles upon which the Justice System in Canada is based: the presumption of innocence before conviction and the fair, equitable treatment of all people regardless of social and economic background. The Bail Program practices these principles for people accused of criminal offences.
