Community Circle of Care
Circle of Care
The Circle of Care Case Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to justice-involved individuals ages 12 to 24 at the Kenora Justice Centre.
The Kenora Justice Centre is 1 of 4 operating in Ontario with a focus on reducing recidivism using restorative and community-based justice processes that include a focus on health and wellness. Community Discussions held during court appearances include access to Elders and Knowledge Keepers. Circle of Care Case Managers use trauma-informed approaches to empower our clients with a strengths-based approach on their journey through the court process. Clients are assisted by the circle of care management to develop their own circle of care plan, including healing goals and participate in an individualized court process to meet their needs and address root causes. Each youth that attends has access to a number of organizations that work together to offer support, on-site social, mental health, addictions, employment, education, health, and housing providers to provide wrap-around services for the accused persons; this includes referrals to outside agencies, access to cultural support as well as healing circles.
