Youth Council member Will Landon joins Kenora community members in the Coldest Night of the Year walk

On Feb 23rd, 2019, Treaty #3 Youth Council member Will Landon joined many Kenora community members in the Coldest Night of the Year walk. He walked 10km and raised $220 to support services accessed by those struggling with stable housing in Kenora.

Many who access services in Kenora are Treaty #3 young people; these young people could be dealing with co-occuring health factors, are looking to take advantage of education, or the workforce but all require the support they need to live a safe and healthy life.

Will says “It is important for all services to work together in promoting quality life outcomes for all people in the Treaty #3 region. Whether we are promoting local services, advocating for resources and systemic change, working in the front lines, or simply living and working in the community; we all have a responsibility to make the world a little bit brighter and ensure everyone has the opportunity to live or work towards mino-biimadiziwin.”

Next years walk will be held on Feburary 22nd 2019. Fine more information at cnoy.org
