Grand Council Treaty #3 sponsors Clean Up Contest in recognition of Earth Day
April 22, 2020 is Earth Day. In recognition of our shared connection to the lands and water, and as stewards of the land, the Territorial Planning Unit is looking to sponsor an Earth Day Competition. The Territorial Planning Unit has been busy in the development of our climate change programs, working on waste diversion measures, shoreline clean ups, the Teaching Our Keepers program and youth climate strategies. The competition will build off these programs and engage Treaty #3 youth aged 12-19 in cleaning up and caring for Mother Earth. Participants can enter the contest by posting before and after photos of an area in their community that they have cleaned up.
The following prizes are available to participants:
- 1st place: choice of an Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
- 2nd place: the remaining choice of console.
- 3rd, 4th and 5th place: $100 Prepaid Visas.
To enter:
- Be a Treaty #3 youth aged 12-19
- Clean up an area in your community
- Post or email before and after photos using #Treaty3formotherearth
