Grand Council Treaty #3 Congratulates Chief Arnold Gardner on Re-Election

Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 congratulates Chief Arnold Gardner of Migisi Sahgaigan First Nation on his re-election this past Wednesday.

“Chief Gardner is always a source of wisdom and knowledge in our assemblies and meetings,” said Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh. “It is Chief Gardner’s calm and collected voice that often guides our Nation through its most difficult decisions. As a long-time leader and former Ogichidaa, Chief Gardner is an invaluable source of advice for many in the Anishinaabe Nation. I very much look forward to our continued work together.”

Chief Gardner participates with the Environmental Chiefs at Grand Council Treaty #3 and will continue guiding work on emergency management, climate change mitigation, resource management and revenue sharing, and operationalizing Manitou Aki Inakonigewin – the Great Earth Law.

Migisi Sahgaigan First Nation, also known as Eagle Lake, lies just west of Dryden, Ontario. The total registered population of Migisi Sahgaigan is 529 of which about 320 live on-reserve.
