Grand Council Treaty#3 Staff Begin Working Remotely

Kenora, ON — The declaration of COVID-19 as a worldwide health pandemic is having an impact on our lives, business operations and the way we interact with one another. With this in mind, we continue to monitor and assess the updates provided by the Government of Canada and Public Health. This information guides our approach and helps ensure we take the steps that best protect our communities and staff, and reduce risk.

With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 the staff at Grand Council Treaty 3 have been requested to work remotely for a period of two weeks. During this time, all office locations will be closed. Grand Council Treaty #3 staff will continue to be available to Treaty #3 leadership and will continue supporting the coordination of emergency response measures within the Treaty 3 territory.

Grand Council Treaty 3 would like to request that people continue to practice social distancing and avoid non-essential travel whenever possible. We also ask individuals to respect travel restrictions that have been put in place for a number of First Nation communities in the region.

Reception at Grand Council Treaty 3 can continue to be reached at (807) 548-4214 or toll free at 1-800-665-3384 and messages will be forwarded to the relevant staff and departments.

The office of the Ogichidaa can be contacted at (807) 788-1406 ext.604 or ext.606.

Treaty 3 will also continue to provide updates to communities and leadership via social media and at http://gct3.ca/coronavirus-covid-19-pandemic-information/
