Grand Council Treaty #3 Offers Condolences to James Smith Cree Nation

Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 offers condolences to the families and citizens of James Smith Cree Nation and acknowledges the efforts of all those that assisted the community during these most difficult of times.

“The news of the unspeakable events in Saskatchewan this week has left us all with a profound sense of sorrow,” said Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh. I know I can speak for the entirety of the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty #3 when I say our thoughts are with the families of lost loved ones in the wake of these terrible attacks.”

The Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty #3 stands with James Smith Cree Nation and mourns with the families of Thomas Burns, Carol Burns, Gregory Burns, Lydia Gloria Burns, Bonnie Goodvoice-Burns, Lana Head, Christian Head, Robert Sanderson, Wesley Petterson, and Earl Burns Sr. who all lost their lives in these tragic attacks.

At this time, Grand Council would also ask that our citizens keep the additional 18 victims still in hospital in their prayers.
