Grand Council Treaty #3 Congratulates Chief Clifford Bull on Election

Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 congratulates Clifford Bull, newly elected Chief of Lac Seul First Nation on his successful election on November 13.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to Clifford Bull on his election to the position of Chief in Lac Seul First Nation,” said Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh. “Chief Bull, as a former Chief of Lac Seul and with his experience gained through his advisory roles in the provincial government will represent his community well for another term. I have known Chief Bull for many years and am confident he will be a strong voice for Lac Seul and for the region.”

Chief Bull will participate with the Cultural Chiefs Committee at Grand Council Treaty #3. The Cultural Chiefs are currently working on justice issues, which will include new work on band by-law issues. Additionally, the Indian Day School settlement is on the horizon for the Cultural Chiefs and they will also continue to advocate for the Treaty and inherent rights of the Anishinaabe in Treaty #3.

Lac Seul First Nation is located near Sioux Lookout, Ontario. The total registered population of Lac Seul is approximately 3000 of which just under 900 live on-reserve.
